Interactive game, 2026
Creating a museum exhibition is the result of the work of a large team of professionals. Today, we invite you to take a behind-the-scenes look at this process and try on one of the roles.
- Choose a role and take a badge from the table (curator, curator, designer, or researcher).
- Assemble a team and find like-minded individuals with other roles, because an exhibition isn’t created alone.
- Create a project using reproductions, paper, and markers, and decide together what story unites the selected works. Your task is to collectively discuss and design the concept for the mini-exhibition on this table.

“This game is for everyone who complains that our exhibitions never change, or that many people don’t realize how much effort—and how many people—are involved in simply changing one painting in a museum. It’s a lot of bureaucratic work, and many hands are needed. We wanted to invite people to try it out: to imagine themselves in these roles. Next to it is an old ledger we found in the archives.
Altynai Kudaibergenova suggested that people write down what they think should be included in the “ledger of their life’s museum.” And people have been writing things like love, and many other intangible, meaningful things. It’s fascinating to see how people have embraced this game—both the challenge of creating an exhibition and the idea of building their own “museum of life.” said Alima Tokmergenova”
